There comes a point in plant folklore when a houseplant becomes more than just a plant. It is artwork, furniture, and a talking point. This is the case with the variegated monstera deliciosa. We picked it up from the greenhouse last week and there were only 2 they had EVER had in stock before. So we got one!
The leaves on the monstera are variegated, meaning they have been specially bred to have a splash of color. We've always thought that nature produces art better than people can. Come in and get a picture with it. Trust us, it isn't camera shy!
We had a lot of fun at the greenhouse this week picking out some awesome plants for you, and we couldn't help but notice some of the BIGGEST plants we've ever seen. Philodendron, fiddle-leaf figs, palms, and 4 foot ZZ plants. This place really has it all.
We even got the chance to shoot a video for you about NASA's best-rated plants for purifying the air! Pop into our Youtube channel to check that one out.
On the left, check out this Calathea Ornata. It's like an artist took his brush to a leaf. Pink veins mark this specimen, and we've only got a few here! Come at least just to see it!
We're all about handmade this season, and we made over 40 succulent terrariums this past week by hand. It includes a clear quartz crystal to give all those good growth vibes to the leaves! It also makes the perfect gift for someone who doesn't have time to water constantly. These guys are so easy to take care of!
This Shit is Bananas There are few plants which bring the tropical feeling into your home as much as the banana plant!
Keep it happy by giving it as bright light as possible. Hardy banana trees like to be grown in full to partial sun and well drained, moist soil. Hardy banana trees like to be grown in full to partial sun and well drained, moist soil.
We've only got a few left in store!
Let me Plant One on Ya
This plant is secret-- like more secret than a secret santa... SO secret in fact, that the greenhouse would only whisper its name. The Licuala Grandis!
Also known as the Ruffled Fan Palm Tree, this plant is native to the Vanuatu islands off the coast of Australia. It has a slender trunk that takes several years to develop. It grows best in partial shade, well-draining soil, and can grow up to 6 feet tall!
How's that for a unique gift?
