ALOCASIA AZLANII

Alocasia azlanii is a new tropical plant species from Brunei, Southeast Asia. This plant is a rare to find beacuse it has just recently been cultivated. To keep it in perfect shape, here are things you need to know:

 Bright indirect sunlight
   Between 65 and 75ºF, best around 60%+ humidity
   Only water when the soil is dry
 Toxic to humans and animals
 Well-draining soil mix, and use fertilizer once a month
Grows up to 2′ tall and leaves grow up to 8″

Alocasia azlanii is a great addition to your collection. It's difficult to come by, so make sure you take good care of it when decide to buy one. It is not difficult to take care of, and this is what you have to know:

Make sure that the soil is always damp, but not soaked. Excessive water and pot without drainage will cause root rot. Check the soil moisture periodically. Water when the top 2" of soil feels dry.

aka Alocasia red mambo.  Simply a stunning plant to behold.  While young, leaves are somewhat similar to A. cuprea but a bit faster grower and mature leaves will deep to a dark purple with veins popping up pink to fluorescent purple.
