PEPEROMIA DOLABRIFORMIS - 4" (PROMO)

aka Prayer Pepper.  This species is native to the warm valleys of northern Peru, where it grows as an epiphyte or terrestrial on rotten wood and leaf litter.

Peperomia dolabriformis is a shrubby succulent with thick fleshy light-green leaves folded in half upward and fused along the dark green margins creating a narrow dark green window. It grows up to 2 feet (60 cm) tall and can be either rosette-forming or erect, laxly branched with fleshy stems that become woody with age. Leaves are up to 3 inches (7.5 cm) long and up to 0.5 inches (1.2 cm) wide, and up to 0.6 inches (1.5 cm) thick.

The inconspicuous flowers are greenish-white and appear on green, slender, up to 16 inches (40 cm) long panicles in summer.

  • Water: keep slightly moist but wet soil will rot plant quickly
