Asparagus macowanii is a hardy plant that can grow up to 6 feet tall when grown in the ground, but can also be grown in containers to achieve a much smaller plant. It has long, smooth stems with white, short spines, and dark green, needle-like foliage about 15 mm long. The plant produces masses of tiny white flowers about 6 mm in diameter between August and November.
