Dioscorea elephantipes - 4"
Native to South Africa, this very long-living succulent that can be passed down to generations. Aka Elephant Foot vine. These are caudex plants meaning their tubers usually are 1/3 or more above ground making them utterly unique and interesting. Mature plants will develop layers upon layers giving them more of a 'tortoise shell' appearance or cracks of Elephant foot. Slow growers and easy to care if you know the tips:
- Light: bright sun (heat loving) and warm
- Soil: cactus mix (very well draining) add perlite to allow quicker draining
- Water: allow to dry between watering
- Fertilizer: growing season (will go dormant in very hot summer months)
Available as assorted in 4" nursery pot. Please note as some may be growing (have leaves) or some dormant. Please do due diligence in knowing how to properly care for these interesting caudex plants. All sales final.
