Platycerium grande, also known as the giant staghorn fern, capa de leon, or dapong repolyo, is an epiphytic fern native to the PhilippinesIt is a species of the Polypodiaceae family and is one of two staghorn ferns native to the Philippines, the other being *P. coronarium*. Platycerium grande is endemic to the island of Mindanao, in the provinces of Zamboanga, Lanao, and Davao.

Platycerium grande has two types of fronds: sterile and fertile. The sterile fronds are larger and more prominent, resembling stag antlers. They can grow up to four feet in length and are covered in a dense layer of fuzzy, gray-green hairs. The fertile fronds are smaller and less showy, emerging from the center of the basal rosette and bearing the fern's spores. Platycerium grande also has a rhizomatous root system, with thick and fleshy roots that help the fern absorb water and nutrients from its surroundings.
