The Gymnocalycium cristata 'Thornless' is a unique and sought-after cactus. It's a cultivar of the Gymnocalycium mihanovichii, appreciated for its unusual crested growth form and lack of spines. Unlike the typical rounded shape of most cacti, the 'Thornless' variety grows in a fan-like or crested shape. This is due to a rare mutation that causes the growing tip to broaden and flatten, resulting in a fascinating, wavy structure.
